The City imposes fees to mitigate the impact of development pursuant to the Mitigation Fee Act, Government Code Section 66000 et seq. Each local agency is required within 180 days after the last day of each fiscal year to make available to the public the following information: a brief description of the type of fee in the accounts, the amount of fees collected and the interest earned, the beginning and ending balance of the accounts, identification of each public improvement on which fees were expended, the amount of expenditure for each public facility or improvement made from the account during the year, and other specified information as applicable.
The City maintains and accounts for the following development fees:
- Inclusionary Housing: These fees are used for providing affordable housing.
- Park-in-Lieu: These fees are used to fund the design and construction of park and park improvements required to mitigate the impact of new development.
- Traffic Impact: These fees are used to fund the design and construction of things such as streets and traffic light improvements as identified in the fee program to mitigate the impact of new development.
