Streets & Traffic

The City owns and maintains approximately 23 centerline miles of paved roads, including 8 signalized intersections and multiple streetlights. An independent consultant visually inspects the condition of every street in Cotati every 2 years, to produce an updated Pavement Management Plan (PMP). The PMP provides a plan for the most cost-effective use of paving funds, which is ultimately incorporated into the City's overall Capital Improvement Program. Additionally, in accordance with the California Vehicle Code, the City also updates the engineering and traffic studies about every 5 years to confirm or reset allowable speed limits on major roadways.
